See the artistic process as ceramicists and painters demonstrate at the art show and sale

October 3 & 4, 2026 | 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

What does a watercolor painting look like before the paint dries? How does a lump of clay become a finished pot?

Come find out at Quyle Kilns at Brice Station during the Calaveras Creative Crawl, October 3 and 4. Artists working in watercolor, painting, ceramics, photography and more will gather at Quyle Kilns for a weekend of making, sharing and selling art.

And they won’t just be showing finished work.

Artists will be working throughout the weekend, so you can watch them paint, sculpt and create, ask questions, talk with them about their processes, and learn more about the ideas and techniques behind their work.

Artists participating at Quyle Kilns include ceramic artists Phoebe Bryan, Vicki Goldman, Amanda Maule, Bob Price, Pamela Quyle, and Sharon Wilcox; watercolorists Barbara Hall and Maggie Sloan; plein air painter Robyn Leimer; and photographer and ceramicist Gene Bryan.

Owner Pam Quyle and business partner Amanda Maule have created a welcoming art community at Quyle Kilns where artists of all skill levels can work, learn and share. Many of the artists participating in the Creative Crawl are part of that community throughout the year.

Presented by the Calaveras Arts Council, the Calaveras Creative Crawl is a countywide weekend of open studios and art shows, with participating studios stretching from Mokelumne Hill to Arnold. Look for the pink signs marking locations along the way.

The Crawl also includes art shows at Native Sons Hall in downtown Murphys during Grape Stomp weekend and at the Calaveras Arts Gallery in historic San Andreas.
