Hi Friends, here at Quyle Kilns we are shifting gears from a busy summer, surviving the windy fall and preparing for a cold winter. . .classes are on hold - but we welcome you to stop by and see what we have been up to. . .lots of pieces here in  the shop that were created during the summer classes, beautiful creations fired in  our new Raku kiln. . .lots to enjoy and be inspired by. . .hope to see you soon!

These classes are designed for  those who have never touched clay and for those who have and want to explore even more.

Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced Students are Welcome

   These classes are designed for all level students to have the opportunity to work in clay.  For students who will only be attending one class - you will work on a project that can be completed during that class time.  Students who will be able to attend more than one class will be able to take on a more advanced project. 

A little about our Instructor: 
  Marlene Wiley Bradford, born in Stockton, received a BA in Art from California State University in Sacramento and also extra study in ceramics at San Joaquin Delta College. She did graduate work in sculpture at UC Davis, under Robert Arneson and CSU Turlock. under  Lisa Reinertson and Tony Natsoulas.  She has created life-size figures and animal sculptures and  has portrait busts on permanent display at the St. Joseph 's  Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas, as well as at the library in Arnold and in private collections.

DECEMBER 

Saturdays in December - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge on Saturday mornings at 10 am leaving from the Old Timers Museum across from the Murphys Hotel. December 28, 2011 - Winter Wonderland at Calaveras Big Trees State Park - 11 AM to 3 PM (regardless of weather). Events include a scenic wagon ride, crafts for kids, music for all and much more. March 17, 2012 - Murphys Irish Day, one of the premiere annual events in the Mother Lode! Each year on the third Saturday in March, thousands of people from Northern California and beyond gather in the historic gold rush town of Murphys to honor its Celtic heritage and to celebrate as only the Irish can. Its picturesque Main Street is filled with booths offering hand crafted items, original art, photographs, tasty food, wine, and other beverages.
